Almost a month after its last event, the drivers of the NHRA take to the track again this weekend.
The NHRA takes to the track this weekend in Atlanta for the Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals. Current divisional points leaders Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Robert Hight (Funny Car), Erica Enders-Steven (Pro-Stock), and Andrew Hines (Pro-Stock Motorcycle) all look to extend their leads for this weekend’s event. ESPN 2 and ESPN3 will carry coverage of this weekend’s event.
Live qualifying and final eliminations will be carried live online via ESPN3. Qualifying will air online via ESPN3 live Friday May 16th at 6:30pm with Final Eliminations live Sunday May 18th at 11am live on ESPN3. Qualifying will run through tape delay on ESPN Saturday, May 17th at 6pm ET. Final Eliminations can be seen on ESPN 2 Sunday May 18th at 9pm ET.

The NHRA Mello Yellow Drag Racing Series is going four-wide this weekend.
Drag Racing’s top series will be at the famed ZMax Dragway near Charlotte, North Carolina this weekend for the NHRA 4Wide Nationals. The annual 4Wide Nationals is the one time each season that the NHRA sends four cars down the track at one time. John Force Racing driver Robert Hight comes in to this weekend’s atop the Funny Car standings with his car owner John Force nine points back in second. Doug Kalitta leads the Top Fuel standings. Antron Brown, Kalitta’s closest competition right now, is a staggering seventy-three points back in second in that division. Erica Enders-Stevens leads the Pro-Stock division fifteen points ahead of Jason Line. And in the Pro-Stock Motorcycle division, Steve Johnson comes into this weekend’s event twenty-one points ahead of Scott Pollacheck.
ESPN2 and ESPN3 will have all of the weekend’s coverage beginning with live qualifying Friday afternoon at 4:15pm on ESPN3. Qualifying will be re-broadcast Saturday night on ESPN2at 9pm ET. Final eliminations will be broadcast live online on ESPN3 Sunday, April 13th at 12pm ET. ESPN2 will carry the television re-broadcast of Final Eliminations Sunday night at 8pm ET. Jason Line, Khalid Albalooshi, and NHRA legend John Force each opened the 2014 NHRA Mello Yellow Drag Racing Series season with wins in their respective divisions of drag racing’s top series. This weekend, the trio look to follow up their season opening victories with wins in the next event on the series’ schedule.
Drag Racing’s top series will be in Phoenix this weekend for the Carquest Auto Parts NHRA Nationals. This weekend’s race will come live from that Wild Horse Motorsports Park in Phoenix. Qualifying will be broadcast live online via ESPN3 Friday evening at 6pm, and on ESPN2 Sunday morning at 2am. ESPN2 will then re-broadcast qualifying Sunday morning at 8am. Audiences can catch final eliminations live online via ESPN3 Sunday afternoon at 3pm. ESPN2 will re-air live eliminations on television beginning at 8pm ET. ESPN’s broadcast of the 54th annual Circle K NHRA Winternationals in Pamona, California kicks off the fourteenth season that the Worldwide Leader in sports has broadcast drag racing’s top series. ESPN3 will carry live qualifying Friday, February 7th at 6:30pm ET. Live eliminations will be carried on ESPN3 beginning Sunday, February 9th at 2pm ET.
