Joshua Scott Jones, one half of the country duo Steel Magnolias, has released the lead single from his upcoming debut solo record The Healing.  ‘Honk (If You’re Tonky)’ is the lead single from Jones’ upcoming solo debut.  Fans can check out the song online now at  Jones explains of his new single that it is a song for guys.  “It speaks to the misunderstood side of men, that makes us rough around the edges while carrying the burden of a big heart and just wanting to live in harmony with yourself,” he said.  “What better than an ‘anthem’ for a first single?”

Jones wore a number of hats in the creation of his new album.  Along with writing the songs that make up the album and playing a number of instruments on each song, he also served as the album’s executive producer.  Jones explained in a recent interview how he has changed since the release of Steel Magnolias’ most recent record roughly three years ago and how this upcoming record is a reflection of how he has grown and changed since then.  “I feel like at this point in my life as an artist, I can’t be anything but candid. The record certainly reflects my headspace over the last few years and tells the story of what I’ve gone through, especially the title track of the record, ‘The Healing.’”

Jones will treat a handful of lucky fans to an early listen to his album later this month when he performs a free show at the Country Radio Seminar Week February 19th at 12th and Porter.  Jones’ set starts at 9pm ET.  More live dates are expected to be announced as the release date for Jones’ new album nears.  Fans can keep up with the latest tour announcements and more from Joshua Scott Jones online at,, and  To keep up with the latest sports and entertainment news and reviews, go online to and “Like” it.  Fans can always keep up with the latest sports and entertainment news and reviews in the Phil’s Picks blog at
