PBS’ NOVA will take viewers Inside Animal Minds next month.

Nova: Inside Animal Minds will be released Tuesday, June 3rd on DVD. This episode of PBS’ hit science series delves into the depths of animal cognition to help viewers understand how animals think and communicate and even what they feel. The program does so through the examination of dogs, birds and dolphins. The minds of these animals are compared to those of humans to find out how similar and dissimilar each species’ minds are.

Paula S. Aspell described the premise of this episode best in noting the sense of superiority that humans have in the animal world. She explains that this episode will completely change those views held by so many to this day. “For centuries, we’ve had a tendency to dismiss animals as creatures without a real understanding of what they were doing, and an assumption that only we humans had the ability to create tools, understand cause and effect, and imagine what the future could be like,” she said. “The truth unveiled in INSIDE ANIMAL MINDS is that animals minds are far more complicated. NOVA provides fascinating insight into the minds of some of the smartest animals on the planet, their ability to solve problems, and how evolutionary forces may have shaped their brains and behavior.”

NOVA: Inside Animal Minds will be available on DVD Tuesday, June 3rd for SRP of $29.99.  It can be ordered online direct from PBS’ online store at  More information on this and other episodes of NOVA is available online now at and To keep up with the latest sports and entertainment news and reviews, go online to and “Like” it.
