Black Sails: The Complete First Season will be released on DVD and Blu-ray/Digital HD combo pack on Tuesday, January 6th, 2015. Its release comes just in time to get up to speed with this hit series before Season 2’s premiere on January 24th, 2015.
Set in 1715, the series takes place in New Providence Island. New Providence Island is a lawless spot. It is run by some of the most nefarious buccaneers in history at the time. The most feared of those pirate captains is Captain Flint (Toby Stephens). There’s just one problem: The British Empire is on the rise. And the end of the age of piracy is threatening. British forces are closing in on New Providence Island. So it’s up to Captain Flint and his partner, the lovely Eleanor Guthrie (Hannah New) to face both those British forces and other pirates—including Eleanor’s own father and a young, new recruit named John Silver (Luke Arnold)—in order to save New Providence Island.
