The countdown is on, football fans. Monday Night Football returns next Monday, September 14th.

To kick off its forty-sixth season (and tenth on ESPN), ESPN’s flagship NFL program will offer fans an NFC doubleheader beginning with a matchup of the Eagles and Falcons in the Georgia Dome. That broadcast is scheduled to begin at 6:55pm ET. The MNF broadcast team of Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden will be in the booth for the call on that game. Reporter Lisa Salters will also be on hand for additional commentary and news.

The second game of the night sees the 49ers (NFC West) host the Vikings (NFC North) in the new Levi’s stadium. The broadcast, scheduled to begin at 10:15pm ET, will also mark the first MNF game at Levi’s Stadium, the home of Super Bowl 50. Chris Berman will have the call for the game. He will be joined in the booth by Trent Dilfer. Lindsay Czarniak will also be on hand for additional commentary and news reports.

Ahead of Monday night’s double header, ESPN will carry a special two-hour edition of Monday Night Countdown beginning at 5pm ET. Suzy Kolber will anchor the broadcast, which will come live from the Georgia Dome. She will be joined at the desk by analysts Cris Carter, Mike Ditka, Tom Jackson, Keyshawn Johnson and Ray Lewis. NFL Insiders Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter will join the Monday Night Countdown crew from ESPN’s studios in Bristol, CT. Analyst Steve Young will join the broadcast team live from Levi’s Stadium. On a side note, Young and other 49ers legends will be honored Monday night during that game.

Suzy Kolber will anchor the halftime broadcast of the Falcons-Eagles game while Trey Wingo will head up the halftime show in the Vikings-49ers game. Kolber will be joined at halftime by Cris Carter and Ray Lewis while Wingo will be joined by Ron Jaworski and Adam Schefter. Both men will join Wingo from ESPN’s studios in Bristol, CT.
