The first rankings for this year’s college football playoffs were released last night. Among the top teams in the year’s first listing, each of the Power Five conferences was well represented. And thanks to the rankings, there is sure to be even more chants of “Roll Tide” on the campus of Alabama this weekend when ESPN rolls into town.

ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will broadcast live from the campus of the currently 4th ranked Crimson Tide this Saturday morning. The Emmy Award ®-winning college football program will come live from the Walk Of Champions outside of Bryant-Denny Stadium ahead of Alabama’s matchup Saturday night against the Tigers of LSU. It marks the second time this season that the program has aired live from Alabama’s campus and the eighth time overall that Gameday has aired live ahead of an Alabama-LSU matchup. Rece Davis will anchor Saturday morning’s broadcast. He will be joined at the desk by ESPN college football analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, and David Pollack. Contributors Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi, George Whitfield and Gene Wojciechowski will also be on hand for additional commentary. Herbstreit will be on the call for the game. He will be joined by Chris Fowler and Heather Cox.

Along with its previous statistics, this weekend’s broadcast also marks the twenty-fourth time that College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will be aired live at the site of an LSU game. Over the course of the team’s previous games it has gone 15 – 8. It is also the twelfth time overall that GameDay has aired live from Alabama’s campus for any of the Crimson Tide’s games. Under coach Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide has gone 5 – 3 when GameDay has preceded the team’s matchups.
