Shout! Factory TV has a special treat for all of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans out there.
Next Thursday, November 26th, Shout! Factory TV will present a Mystery Science Theater 3000 marathon. The marathon begins at 12pm ET/9 PT and will feature six full-length episodes of the cult classic series hand picked by series creator Joel Hodgson. It can be viewed online at http://www.BringBackMST3K.com. Hodgson himself will even be interacting with audiences throughout the course of the marathon, reading fan mail submissions just as he did with the show’s original broadcasts. Fans can also share their own riffs, jokes and MST3K memories with Hodgson and other fans of the classic series throughout the marathon. Fans can submit their letters, drawings, jokes, riffs, and even songs for the marathon to email@example.com before Wednesday, November 25th at 5pm ET if they want them to be read and presented. While they are taking in all of the jokes, gags and movies so bad that they’re great, fans can also help bring back MST3K by contributing to Hodgson’s Kickstarter campaign, which is currently raising the money to finance a full 12-episode season. Fans can donate to the campaign at http://www.BringBackMST3K.com.
Since launching last Tuesday, November 10th, the “Bring Back MST3K” Kickstarter campaign has already raised $more than $2.3 million of its needed $5.5 million (and probably more than that by the time that this article is posted). That is roughly half of the needed funds. The deadline to raise the required money to produce the twelve-episode season is Friday, December 11th. All of the latest updates on the campaign are available online at:
