This Friday veteran metal act Amon Amarth will release its latest full-length studio recording to the world. The album Jomsviking is the veteran Swedish “Viking metal” act’s tenth full-length studio recording. In anticipation of the album’s impending release Decibel magazine is featuring an interview with the band in its latest issue.
The members of Amon Amarth—Johan Hegg (vocals), Ted Lundstrom (bass), Johan Soderberg (guitar), and Olavi Mikkonen (guitar)–sat down recently with Decibel magazine to discuss the band’s new album, which is also the band’s first ever concept album, the story behind the album, the inspiration behind its creation, and more. Amon Amarth will launch a North American tour in support of Jomsviking beginning Thursday, April 7th in San Diego, California. The band’s current tour schedule runs through May 21st in Los Angeles, California and includes a stop in North Carolina on Wednesday, April 20th. Entombed A.D. and Exmortus will serve as support acts for the length of the tour. The current schedule for the tour is noted below.
