Eve To Adam is giving audiences a taste of its next full-length studio recording.
The band unveiled the lead single from its upcoming album Odyssey this week.
‘Tongue Tied’ is an up-tempo composition driven largely by drummer Alex Sassaris’ time keeping. The dual guitar attack of Markus Wells and Mat Spaker adds even more depth to the song’s arrangement.
The song’s lyrical content is a commentary on standing up to one’s critics, said front man Taki Sassaris. He said the motivation for the song’s far-reaching lyrical content came from seeing acts stroking music industry insiders’ egos, churning out the same thing from one act to another.
“To quote Billy Squier, “Stroke Me, Stroke Me” says the music business to every band out there busting their a** to make it,” Sassaris said. “Eve To Adam is now done with that song and dance. Too many bands doing the same thing really led us to the point of trying something different. Eve To Adam’s sound is looking to the future, and Odyssey is our first big step in that direction. In wanting to people’s attention to our evolution and survival, ‘Tongue Tied’ became the perfect choice for a first single; an anthem for shutting up your haters by succeeding where they thought you had failed.”

The release of ‘Tongue Tied’ is just one way the band is promoting Odyssey. The band has also announced an upcoming tour dubbed “The Tongue Tied Tour” beginning February 11 in Orlando, Florida. The tour also includes a performance Feb. 15 in Raleigh, NC. Chris Warner will fill in as Eve To Adam’s drummer for the course of the tour in Alex Sassaris’ place.
