The Black Crowes are coming back…sort of.

Three members of the seminal rock band re-united recently to form a new band dubbed The Magpie Salute.  The band, comprised of Rich Robinson, Marc Ford, and Sven Pipien, will release its self-titled debut full-length this summer.

The record is currently slated to be released Friday, June 9 via Eagle Rock Entertainment.  It was recorded live in-studio front of an intimate audience at Applehead Studios in Woodstock, New York except for the full-studio track ‘Omission.’  The album marks the last recorded by ex-Black Crowes keyboardist Eddie Harsch, who also handled keyboards on this record.

The Magpie Salute’s lead single ‘Omission’ will impact radio stations nationwide next month.  A companion video for the single is expected to be released soon after.  Also in advance of the album’s release, the band will release a special 10” vinyl 45 single of ‘Comin’ Home’ and ‘Glad and Sorry’ on Record Store Day, April 22.

A headlining tour in support of The Magpie Salute is scheduled to launch July 26 in Indianapolis, IN.  The tour includes three stops in North Carolina on August 15, 16 and 20 in Charlotte, Raleigh and Asheville respectively.

Before the band launches its headlining tour, it will also embark on an extensive European spring/summer tour that launches April 12 in London, U.K. and runs through July 13 in Berlin, Germany.  The band’s current tour schedule is noted below.
