ESPN will present a battle of East versus West in next week’s edition of Monday Night Football.

The Kansas City Chiefs (AFC West) will host the Washington Redskins Oct. 2 in Kansas City live on ESPN to round out Week 4 of the NFL’s 2017 – ’18 season.  Monday’s coverage begins at 6 p.m. with Monday Night Countdown hosted by Suzy Kolber. The network’s weekly pre-game broadcast will air live from Arrowhead Stadium.

Kolber will be joined by NFL analysts Matt Hasselbeck, Randy Moss, Charles Woodson and Steven Young for additional commentary.  ESPN NFL Insiders Chris Mortensen, Louis Riddick and Adam Schefter will also join the broadcast from ESPN’s headquarters along with ESPN Senior Fantasy Sports Analyst Matthew Berry.

Live coverage of Monday night’s cross-conference game is currently scheduled to start at 8:15 p.m. with Sean McDonough and Jon Gruden on the call.  Lisa Salters will be on the sidelines with all of the latest in-game news and interviews.

Monday night’s matchup will be simulcast in Spanish on television on ESPN Deportes and ESPN2 with Alvaro Martin, Raul Allegre and John Sutcliffe handling broadcast duties there.  The game will also be available streaming via the ESPN app.

While the Chiefs and Redskins are in different conferences, Monday’s game will have the same importance for each team.  The AFC West-leading Chiefs (3 – 0) are 1 – 0 at home so far this season while the Redskins (2 – 1 ), who are in a close battle with Philadelphia and Dallas for the top spot in the NFC East, are also 1 – 0 on the road.

Both teams added another notch to their “W” columns in Week 3 with Kansas City defeating San Diego 24 – 10 and Washington defeating the Raiders 27 – 10.  A win for the Chiefs could potentially widen their lead in the AFC West depending on the outcome of the other games in the division this weekend.  Another win for Washington could have equally big implications in the NFC East – again depending on the division’s other games.
