The Wolverines and Spartans will go head-to-head live Saturday night under the lights on ABC.
The in-state rivals will headline the ESPN networks’ broadcast schedule for the sixth week of the 2017 – ’18 college football season on ABC’s Saturday Night Football presented by Wells Fargo. Coverage is expected to start at 7:30 p.m. on ABC. It will mark the first time ever that the teams will have faced off under the lights and on prime time.
Michigan State has had the edge on the Spartans’ in the teams’ ongoing rivalry with the Spartans taking seven of the teams’ last nine games. Michigan comes into Saturday’s matchup undefeated so far this season and has allowed no more than 17 points scored against the team, meaning Saturday’s matchup will be just as big as the teams’ previous showdowns.
While the Wolverines – Spartans matchup is the headliner for this week’s broadcast schedule across the ESPN networks, it is not the networks’ only game on tap. Arkansas State and Georgia Southern open Week Six tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
Millersville takes on East Stroudsburg to open the ESPN networks’ Thursday college football coverage. Broadcast is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. on ESPN3. Alcorn State and Alabama State follow at 7:30 p.m. on ESPNU while No. 17 Louisville and No. 24 N.C. State round out the night on ESPN beginning at 8 p.m.
The UConn Huskies play host to the Memphis Tigers to open Friday’s college football coverage on ESPN beginning at 7 p.m. Morgan State and South Carolina State follow at 7:30 p.m. on ESPNU. Boise State and BYU finish off the night at 10:15 on ESPN.
The ESPN networks’ college football coverage continues Saturday with a near daylong schedule that kicks off at noon with Northwestern hosting No. 4 Penn State on ABC, No. 5 Georgia on the road against Vanderbilt on ESPN, No. 2 Clemson hosting Wake Forest on ESPN2, No. 12 Auburn hosting Ole Miss on the SEC Network, East Carolina hosting Temple on ESPN and Graceland on the road against Evangel on ESPN3.
The gridiron action runs late into the night as Southwest Baptist and Truman State are currently scheduled to finish off the weekend’s coverage. The full broadcast schedule for this weekend’s games is noted below.
