Year of the Locust has unveiled the video for its latest single.

The new York-based band unveiled this week the video for ‘Sunshine’ via The song is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Rock. Sex. God. Machine. Its official release date has not yet been announced, but will be in the days to come.

Front man Scotty Mac said of the song in a recent interview that the song was powerful both musically and lyrically.

“The lyrics and melodies hit me like a ton of bricks…When a song is written and you are locked into a melody from the very start…That’s like a Polaroid picture,” Mac said.  “Moment captured; lightning strikes…and the smell of the burnt soil is undeniable. It sticks with you.”

Produced and Directed by Steve Sage, head of Steve Sage Productions, the band’s new video seems to tell the story of a man who has been wronged by a loved one and that man’s pained reaction at said woman’s seeming infidelity. Sage called working with the band to create the video an enjoyable experience.

“Working with Year of the Locust was an amazing experience,” Sage said.  “The guys are professionals on and off the stage.  They brought my team and I a treatment and we created something beyond their expectations.  This video and the next are going to be kickass.”
