Ice Nine Kill’s Horror Flick Tributes Continue In Its Latest Video

Ice Nine Kills has unveiled the video for its latest single.

The band debuted the video for its single ‘Stabbing in the Dark’ on Friday.  the single is taken from the band’s latest album The Silver Scream, which is available now via Fearless Records.  As with the band’s previous videos, this work also centers on a famous slasher flick, this time Halloween.

The latest video also continues the story of front man Spencer Charnas’ therapy sessions, in which he describes his nightmarish dreams to his therapist.  The descriptions are the basis for the videos, and this video is graphic to say the least.  In other words, viewer discretion is once again advised.

Charnas said he is proud of the video’s outcome in a recent interview about the production.

“I am proud to present what I believe to be the most intense installment yet of the Silver Scream film,” Charnas said.  “‘Stabbing in the Dark’ is our tribute to John Carpenter’s holy grail of slasher flicks — Halloween.  We also combine franchises here with a nod to A Nightmare on Elm Street, as the security guard in the clip is played by the fantastic Ricky Dean Logan.  He met his demise in Freddy’s Dead, and that particular kill, where he gets his ear cut off, is widely known as Robert Englund’s favorite death in the series.”

Charnas added, “He’s [Logan] been in everything from horror to Seinfeld to Back to the Future, so I knew he would be able to capture the essence of terror, but with an underlying tongue-in-cheek spirit.”

Speaking of A Nightmare on Elm Street, the band paid tribute to that movie in the first movie in its recent franchise with the video for its single ‘The American Nightmare.’ Charnas offered his thanks to the staff of the video’s filming site for their part in making the video a reality during his interview.

“The amazing people at Haunted Overload horror park in Lee, New Hampshire lent their amazing resources to us to make this the most visually stunning episode so far,” Charnas said.

‘Stabbing in the Dark’ is the fourth installment in INK’s current video series.  “Part Three” came last month in the form of a tribute to the late, great Brandon Lee and the cult favorite movie The Crow in ‘A Grave Mistake.’  The series’ second installment, ‘Thank God It’s Friday,’ paid tribute to the Friday The 13th movie franchise.
