mpi media group is bringing The Donna Reed Show to DVD again.
The company announced via press release on Wednesday, that it will release The Donna Reed Show: Seasons 1-5 on DVD on May 14. It marks the first time that Seasons 1-5 have ever been released on one complete set. The seasons were previously released by mpi media group in their own standalone sets in 2015.
Shout! Factory also previously released two of the classic sitcom’s eight seasons in 2010. Seasons Six-Eight have never had official releases on DVD or Blu-ray.
Along with the 186-episode run, the new collection will also feature extras, such as interviews with Shelley Fabares and Paul and Patty Petersen, vintage promo spots and original cast and sponsor commercials as bonus content. Other extras featured in the set are items, such as rare footage and Donna Reed’s tribute on This Is Your Life.
Among the many guest stars featured throughout the course of the series’ first five seasons are celebs, such as Harvey Korman, Buster Keaton, Esther Williams and and Jimmy Hawkins.
The Donna Reed Show follows its titular character as a homemaker. Carl Betz (Judd For The Defense, Viki, Love Of Life) plays her pediatrician husband Alex. Fabares (Coach, Girl Happy, Matinee Theatre) played Reed’s daughter Mary.
Petersen (Houseboat, The Executive, In The Year 2889) played Reed’s son Jeff. Later in the series’ run, Patty Petersen joined the cast as Reed’s adopted daughter Trisha.
The Donna Reed Show: Seasons 1-5 will retail for MSRP of 129.98. Its run time is listed as 82 hours.
