The Little League World Series tournaments are officially underway, and ESPN will launch its coverage of the tournaments’ final rounds next week.
The network will begin coverage of the 73rd Little League World Series Aug. 15 through a variety of platforms. The coverage culminates Aug. 25 with coverage of the Little League World Series Championship Game. That game is scheduled to air on ABC.
As an added bonus to its coverage, ESPN will air its third annual MLB Little League Classic Aug. 18. The game will see the Pittsburgh Pirates hosting the Chicago Cubs in a first versus worst of the National League Central. Starting pitchers will be announced for the game at a later date.
The Cubs (63-53) sit atop the NL Central while the Pirates (48-66) sit in last place in the division behind Cincinnati, St. Louis and Milwaukee.
ESPN’s Little League Baseball World Series is just some of the little league ball coverage that the network and its family of networks have planned. The Little League Softball World Series from Aug. 12-14. The tournament will take place at Alpenrose Stadium in Portland, OR.
The tournament’s 27 total games will air on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNEWS. Coverage of the tournament started Wednesday on ESPN+.
