Two National League opponents will close out their weekend series Sunday night live on ESPN.

The Dodgers and Mets will wrap their three-game series Sunday night live on Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell.  The Dodgers claimed the NL West title this week and added to their positives by opening this weekend’s series against the host Mets with a 9-2 win Friday.

Walker Buehler (13-3) was scheduled to start for Los Angeles as of Saturday night.  Buehler’s last time on the mound was Tuesday against Baltimore. He claimed the win in the Dodgers’ 7-3 victory in that game, striking out 11 batters and allowing only four hits over seven innings. He allowed no walks or earned runs in the game.

Zach Wheeler (11-7) is expected to get the start for the Mets.  His last time on the mound was also Tuesday. He claimed the win in the Mets’ 3-2 win over Arizona, but struggled along the way. Wheeler allowed seven hits, one earned run and two walks over seven innings while striking out seven batters.

Either team can win Sunday’s series finale despite the standings. New York is 6-4 in its last 10 games and 42-30 at home so far this season. That is compared to a 34-41 road record. Los Angeles meanwhile is 7-3 in its last 10 games and 40-33 on the road so far this season versus going 56-20 at home.  At the same time, the Dodgers are riding the momentum of a two-game win streak headed into Saturday’s second game in the series, so Los Angeles has just as much chance to win Sunday as New York.

Matt Vasgersian will anchor Sunday night’s game.  He will be joined in the booth by analysts Alex Rodriguez and Jessica Mendoza for additional commentary.  Reporter Buster Olney will be on the field for all of the game’s latest headlines.

Jon Sciambi will anchor the game’s simulcast on ESPN Radio.  He will be joined by analyst Chris Singleton for additional commentary.

Baseball TonightSunday Night Countdown presented by Chevrolet will precede Sunday night’s SNB broadcast, beginning at 6 p.m.  Kevin Connors will anchor the broadcast.  He will be joined by analysts Tim Kurkjian and Ryan Howard will join him for additional commentary.
