The Deadnotes will release its new album Courage next month.
The album is scheduled for release Feb. 14 through 22Lives Records. In anticipation of the album’s release, the band debuted the video for the album’s lead single this week.
The band debuted the video for the song ‘Never Perfect’ Wednesday. The song presents an upbeat, pop punk style arrangement that is comparable to works from so many American pop punk acts. Its lyrical content is just as certain to engage listeners, as it takes on the matter of mental health.
Front man Darius Lohmuller talked about the song’e lyrical theme in a recent interview.
“Mental health has always been an important topic for us and as a band in the last few years,” he said. “With ‘Never Perfect,’ we decided to explicitly talk about the numerous situations we have come across, where either we ourselves, befriended bands or people we are in contact with working in the music industry heave struggled with mental health. We sadly have to admit that we find more and more people not being able to cope with these situations.”
He added, “I believe it’s still something that’s not talked about enough yet it’s very important to listen to each other, be attentive, and also consider getting help from professionals if you’re affected.”
The band offered connections to agencies that can help people dealing with mental health issues. Links to those agencies are listed below.
