Independent rock band Silent Theory debuted the video for its latest single over the weekend.
The band debuted the lyric video for its new single ‘Six Feet Under‘ Sunday. The song’s musical arrangement sees its foundation formed through a piano line that repeatedly plays the same four notes. The use of the guitars, drums, vocals and electronics give the song a sound that lends itself to comparisons to works from the likes of Linkin Park, Korn and other similar acts.
The song’s lyrical content takes on the difficult topic of mental health awareness in the United States and how that relates to the gun violence epidemic across the nation.
The band explained the song’s lyrical concept in a collective statement.
“‘Six Feet Under’ is about the evolution of hate and ignorance to mental health,” the statement reads. “It was written during the marathon of mass shootings but it was never a stance on gun control. Only a wake up call observation of our mental healthcare system and our bare minimum efforts for prevention.”
‘Six Feet Under’ is available to stream and download here.
