Family entertainers Sharon & Bram are doing their part to help spread the message about peace, love and unity.
The duo recently took part in recording an updated cover of Joe Hampson’s song ‘Talk About Peace’ and companion video, which premiered Tuesday. Recorded using Zoom, the video features an appearance by figures, such as Hampson’s widow Sharon Hampson (Sharon & Bram), as well as his and Sharon Hampson’s daughter Randi, comedian Colin Mochrie (Whose Line Is It Anyway?), Josh Lovelace (NEEDTOBREATHE) and the Canadian family music duo Splash ‘N Boots.
Platinum Circle Media Founder Jacy Dawn Valeras produced the video for the new, updated take of ‘Talk About Peace.’
Sharon & Bram featured the song’s updated take on the duo’s latest album, the Juno-nominated Sharon & Bram and Friends. The song featured on the duo’s record featured updated lyrics that were crafted by Randi Hampson. The original song was used in an episode of Sharon, Lois & Bram’s TV show The Elephant Show.
Hampson talked about taking part in the song’s update in a recent interview.
“In times like these, one of the best things we can do is, as the song says, ‘talk about love, talk about peace, and talk about a world full of happiness,'” she said. “With the state of the world right now, we feel this song, with its universal message of hope, needs to be sung more than ever and turned into action.”
Joe Hampson was a member of the Canadian folk music group The Travellers for more than 40 years. He died in 2006.
