Paige was not a permanent member of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, but she was a frequent collaborator with the group.  After Teddy Pendergrass departed the group, her role with the act increased.  Her collaborations with Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes also included songs, such as ‘You Know How To Make Me Feel So Good,’ ‘I’m Searching For A Love’ and ‘I Should Be Your Lover.’

Paige’s most prominent role with Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes came on the group’s 1980 album The Blue Album, but the album  struggled to chart.

Some of the material that Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes released during its time together were done so through Philadelphia International Records.  The label’s heads, Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff offered their thoughts on Paige’s passing, as she worked on records that the group released through the label.

“Sharon possessed one of the most unique female vocals that blended perfectly with the smooth singing and vocal prowess of Harold Melvin and Teddy Pendergrass,” the statement reads. “We really enjoyed recording Sharon with the group and felt she was a great asset, both for the successful launch of the act and for being a great talent in her own right. She will always be remembered as Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes (featuring the lovely Ms. Sharon Paige). We send our sincere condolences to her family and fans.”

Philadelphia International Records officially went out of business in 2001, 30 years after Gamble and Huff launched the label.  As of 2007, Sony owns the rights to the label’s catalog.
