Independent hard rock band Nagazi debuted the video for its latest single this week.
The band debuted the video for its new single ‘Triumphant‘ Wednesday. The video, filmed by Will Moss (Minds Media), uses archived live footage of the band that was recorded from two stops on the November Pain Tour — Growler’s in Memphis, TN on 11/19/19 and Stickyz in Little Rock, AR on 11/23/19. — and sets it against the song’s audio to add to the effect.
The band joined Smile Empty Soul and Cinder for the November pain Tour.
The song’s musical arrangement is a composition that will appeal to sludge metal fans. It opens with a distinct doom style work before adding in a classic metal sound a la Metallica. Front man Joe Hafer’s gutteral vocal delivery adds to the general effect, leading to comparisons to works from Crowbar and Lamb of God. Yes, it sounds like an odd combination, but it works nonetheless.
The emotion and energy exhibited in the song’s musical arrangement works well with its lyrical counterpart, which the band discussed in a prepared statement.
“There are a lot of people in this world that want to get close to you, use you, take what they can, chew you up, and spit you out,” the statement reads. “‘Triumphant’ is about challenging these loathsome people, and fighting for what is yours.”
‘Triumphant’ was engineered by Matt Dalton (Rock Hill Sound [formerly Metro 37 Studios]) and mastered by Ulrich Wild (Taproot, Slipknot, Static-X). The song is available to stream and download through Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, and Google Play.
