Independent rock super group Fore paid tribute to pioneering punk band Pennywise this month.
The band — Christian “Speesy” Giesler (ex-Kreator), Jermaine Kling (Venom Prison, Masscare, The Absence), Taylor Nordberg (Masscare, The Absence) and Brian Stephenson (Old James, Skull Fist) — debuted its cover of Pennywise’s hit song ‘Open Door‘ Aug. 7. The song was not included in the band’s debut album Hombres, which was released the same day. It was however, recorded during the album’s recording sessions.
‘Open Door’ was featured in Pennywise’s 1991 self-titled debut album. Fore’s take on the song stays true to its source material in terms of its musical arrangement. It is just as intense as Pennywise’s original song.
Fore’s take on ‘Open Door’ was mixed and mastered by Kling and Nordberg at Smoke & Mirrors Productions in Spring Hill, Florida.
