Things are looking up for punk rock super group Fore.
The band announced Friday, it has signed a new deal with the German-based record label ftwctp Records (yes, that really is the label’s name). The new record deal will allow the band to distribute its debut album Hombres on vinyl. The band released its album independently Aug. 7 on CD.
The news of Fore’s new deal comes on the heels not only of its album’s release, but also the debut of its cover of fellow punk rock band Pennywise’s song ‘Open Door.’ The song was recorded during the sessions for Hombres, but was not featured in the record upon its release.
‘Open Door’ was featured in Pennywise’s 1991 self-titled debut album. Fore’s take on the song stays true to its source material in terms of its musical arrangement. It is just as intense as Pennywise’s original song.
Fore’s take on ‘Open Door’ was mixed and mastered by Kling and Nordberg at Smoke & Mirrors Productions in Spring Hill, Florida.
