Lufeh debuted the video for the eighth and last song from its new album this week.
The band debuted the video for its song ‘Trial of Escapade‘ Monday. The song is taken from the band’s debut album Luggage Falling Down. It rounds out the album’s eight-song run, and comes on the heels of the debut of the album’s most recent single, ‘End of the Road.’
As with the videos for each of the album’s other songs, this video also features the band performing in what is meant to reflect a live setting. The song’s musical arrangement takes influences from Dream Theater circa 1997. Though, the use of the keyboards, guitars and bass also could lend itself to comparisons to some of Dream Theater’s much more vintage material.
The band talked about the song’s musical arrangement in a prepared statement.
“’Trial of Escapade’ has a special mix of a funky groove with very dramatic vocals,” the statement reads. “Though much of the main riff and verse relies on a repeating 4-chord structure, you wouldn’t notice it on first listen due to the creative voicings of each of the chords and the variations they go through. This song’s chorus is one of the most memorable features of the whole album, and beautifully contrasts its moving bass lines and iconic guitar-bass unisons.”
The lyrical theme in this song seems to hint at the familiar topic of a personal relationship. Its metaphorical language is not too complicated, so it will connect with listeners in its own right, too.
