Independent singer-songwriter Dayze (a.k.a. Heriberto Delgado, Jr.) is getting existential with his latest single and video.

Dayze debuted the video for his new single ‘My Way’ Friday. The video finds Delgado and his band mates performing the new single in a futurist laboratory type setting. As the band performs, a woman stands, bound and connected to a series of tubes. As the song and video progress, the woman does manage to break free of her bindings. The outcome is meant to work with the song’s lyrical content, representing finding one’s purpose in life and breaking free of the things holding us back.

Delgado discussed all of this in a recent interview.

“‘My Way’ is a song that conveys the struggles of finding purpose and reason in life,” he said. “Throughout the video we see the actress stuck/trapped and the ropes and cables symbolize the internal and external conflicts we face every day. This video is a reflection of my emotions when I was going through a very tough time and I hope that those who watch realize that no matter how hard it gets there is always a way out.”

‘My Way’ is available to stream and download here.
