Independent rock band Arcana debuted the video for its latest single last week.

The band debuted the video for its single ‘Tailwind’ Thursday through SonicPerspectives. The song and its video are the second from the band’s forthcoming debut EP Letters From A Lost Soul — Act IThe World One Forms, which is a concept record. The band debuted the EP’s lead single, ‘Wings’ Oct. 7 through The Prog Space.

According to information provided about the new single, ‘Tailwind’ tells the story of the EP’s main characters, Damian and his wife Hope. The couple is separated and longing to be reunited in this song.

The song’s musical arrangement is a heavy, unique work that boasts influences from the likes of fellow prog rock acts Haken, Rush, and Porcupine Tree. The band talked about the song’s arrangement in a prepared statement.

“Tailwind is a very stripped-down track,” the statement reads. “I wanted it to feel like your standard 4 or 5 piece rock band (singer, guitarist, bassist, drums, keys) in contrast to the other tracks on this album which can get up into the 20 individual instrument range. I have been trying to write one more contemporary/pop-like track per album and I believe this encompasses that wish extremely well. It’s upbeat, quick, and it feels like you can dance to it. It is still rhythmically technical but it hides it in the 4/4 time and the drive that pushes the sound forward throughout.”

Letters From A Lost Soul — Act IThe World One Forms is scheduled for release Nov. 6. The EP’s track listing is noted below.

Track Listing:
1. Letters From A Lost Soul (0:53)
2. Wings (7:11)
3. Tailwind (3:55)
4. Octosun/Wings (Reprised) (9:54)
EP Length: 21:55
