Independent singer-songwriter Sophia Annello debuted her latest single this week.

Anello debuted her new single ‘When We Were Young‘ Thursday. Annello was joined by her younger brother Nico Annello for the song. The musical arrangement that is featured in the song is a light, neo folk-pop style composition. The harmonies that the brother-sister duet creates along with the gentle snare and guitar accompaniment makes the composition in whole such a rich, deeply moving presentation.

The lyrical content that accompanies the song’s musical arrangement will resonate with listeners just as much as the musical content. It is a warm remembrance of days long gone.

Sophia talked about the song’s lyrical theme during a recent interview.

“With all that is going on in the world I think most people can relate to reminiscing about simpler times,” she said.

Annello, while still young, is making waves in the music community. National Public Radio has named her to its “20 Under 20” list. Her previous single ‘Falling’ has garnered more than 60 million views on TikTok. She is hoping to release her debut album this year.
