Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson’s movie company Ellefson Films (Amped/Alliance) will release its new horror movie, Dwellers to home platforms this fall.

The found footage flick is scheduled for release Oct. 12 on Blu-ray/DVD/Digital combo pack. Ellefson produced the movie while Drew Fortier wrote, directed and starred in the story. The movie has garnered a handful of awards since making its cinematic debut. Its awards are noted below.

Best Feature (Screamwriting Festival)

Best Director (The Thing in the Basement Horror Fest)

Best Horror Feature (Mad Monster Party Film Fest)

Best Documentary (Hollywood Blood Horror Festival)

Most Disturbing Scenes (Horror Bowl Movie Awards)

Dwellers‘ plot follows a film crew that is investigating a disappearance in city’s homeless community. In the process, the crew itself goes missing. This leads to an allegedly scary secret beneath the city’s streets.

Along with Fortier, the movie also stars James L. Edwards (Her Name Was Christa), Douglas Esper (The Nutshell), and Omar Baig (Let’s Make a Movie). Former Mushroomhead vocalist Jeff Hatrix (a.k.a. Jeffrey Nothing) and Ellefson himself make guest appearances.

Dwellers will be screened March 20 as part of the HorrorHound Film Festival’s Midnight Madness Feature. A Q&A session with the cast members will follow. Tickets for the screening are available here.
