Fire Follows Debuts New Single, ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head,’ Companion Video

Independent hard rock band Fire Follows debuted its latest single last month, along with the single’s video.

The band debuted its new single ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head‘ March 19. The single’s debut was followed by the debut of its companion lyric video March 23. The premiere of the song and its video follows that of the band’s most recent single, ‘Glass Grenade,’ and its video.

Those premieres additionally follow those of the band’s single, ‘Black and White,’ and its video. All three songs are featured in the band’s EP, Glass Grenade.

The musical arrangement featured in Fire Follows’ latest single is a melodic metalcore style composition that will appeal to fans of bands, such as Atreyu, and Of Mice and Men. That is evidenced through the use of the piano line and strings against the variances in the clean, melodic vocals and screams, as well as the guitar line.

The lyrical theme featured in the band’s new single focuses on a specific experience through which everyone goes in life, according to front man Chris Watt.

“The lyrical message centers around the torment and angst one can face after suffering tremendous loss,” he said. “The opening lines in the chorus read, ‘I can’t get you out of my head – In spite of the monster you are,’ illuminating the tug of war that is often associated with loss and letting go.”

The video for ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’ features the band in studio, shooting a music video. It features a photographer taking pictures while the band mimes its parts. The director and others record and go about their business in the meantime as the song’s lyrics appear on screen.
