Ska-punk band Half Past Two debuted the video for its latest single this week.
The band premiered the video for its new single, ‘Some Nights’ Wednesday. Pre-saves for the single are open now. The song is expected for inclusion in the band’s as-yet-untitled forthcoming album, which is expected for release this fall through Pay Attention Records. A release date for the album is under consideration.
The premiere of the ‘Some Nights’ video and its forthcoming audio-only presentation comes more than a month after the release of the band’s then latest single, ‘Mean Green.’ It is unknown if the band’s forthcoming album will feature that single, too.
The ‘Some Nights’ video is a simple presentation. It presents each of the band’s members performing his/her respective part against a solid color backdrop. Each backdrop is different from those behind his/her band mates.
The musical arrangement feature in ‘Some Nights’ is an up-tempo composition that will appeal to any ska purist. The guitar and keyboards clearly exhibit ska’s reggae roots while the horns, vocals, and drums give the song its equally fun rock vibe.
No information about the song’s lyrical theme was presented in the press release distributed about the video’s premiere. However, in listening to the song, listeners can infer that the song’s lyrical theme centers on the topic of a couple’s relationship.
