Pop artists Carlie Hanson offered audiences their first preview of her debut album this week.

Hanson premiered her new single, ‘Gucci Knife (ft. MASN)‘ and its video Friday. The song and its video are the first from Hanson’s forthcoming debut album. The album’s title, release date, and more is under consideration.

As the song’s title notes, it features a guest vocal performance from singer MASN. He and Hanson also appear together in the song’s video, which features Hanson singing about the pain of a breakup in a car and hotel room with what is supposed to be her former romantic partner. At one point, she even sits atop the car with what is meant to be rain falling on her to add to the song’s mood.

The mood in question is established primarily through the song’s musical arrangement. That arrangement is an easy fit into any mainstream Top 40 pop radio programmer’s play list. It also compliments well, the song’s familiar noted lyrical theme.

Hanson discussed the song’s lyrical content in a prepared statement.

“’Gucci Knife’ captures the heavy heartbreak of being so unexpectedly let down by a person after they change their mind, what feels like, overnight,” said Hanson.
