Talk Show Host premiered its latest single this week.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Warmest Condolences‘ Friday. The song is the third single from the band’s forthcoming album, Mid-Century Modern, which is scheduled for release June 4 through Wiretap Records. Its premiere comes more than a month after the band debuted the album’s lead single, ‘Blood in the Sand‘ and its video. Additionally, it comes less than a month after the band debuted the album’s second single, ‘Crisis Actors.’
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Warmest Condolences’ is an upbeat, pop punk style composition. Its light, happy sound is meant as an intentional contrast to the song’s lyrical theme, which focuses on police violence. The contrast of the serious topic and lighter musical arrangement is meant to highlight the cynical, sarcastic tone in the noted discussion.
The band addressed that lyrical theme in a prepared statement.
“‘Warmest Condolences’ is a driving, catchy summer jam about guns that somehow fire themselves and the cops who just can’t seem to figure out why!.” the statement reads. “Bop your head to an indictment of our capitalist police state & the never-ending cycle of grief & misery upon which it feeds!! IT’S A GOOD TIME, I SWEAR.”
‘Warmest Condolences’ is available to stream and download through Spotify and the band’s official Bandcamp page.
