Independent singer/songwriter Matthew Lewellin debuted his latest single, ‘Let Love Be‘ and its companion video last month.

Lewellin premiered the song and its video May 24. The musical arrangement featured in the song’s musical arrangement is a work that 80s rock fans will find familiar. It is easily comparable to the hair ballads of the age with its bittersweet vocal delivery, soaring guitar and equally cutting drums and bass.

According to information presented in a press release about the song, its lyrical theme focuses on the need for unity. He does this by explaining how unity and that plutonic love for one another seems more commonplace among younger people than among adults.

The video for Lewellin’s new single finds his in a forested setting, and in front of a posh mansion as he performs his new single. Meanwhile a group of young women wearing masks plays together. The use of the young women is supposedly meant to help translate the noted message in the song’s lyrical theme, as they are younger and thus more innocent, unaffected by influences and pressures of the world that would otherwise divide them.
