Independent rock band The Keystones opened the weekend with a new single and video.

The band premiered its new single, ‘Time Will Tell‘ and its companion video Friday. The song features a catchy pop-rock arrangement that also incorporates the slightest hint of pop punk from the 90s for a whole that is infectious throughout its nearly three-minute run time.

The upbeat musical arrangement featured in this song is accompanied by an equally positive lyrical theme that the band explained in a prepared statement.

“These lyrics are synonymous to our band as a whole, as our paths have ebbed and flowed, the statement reads. “We’ve been through many changes, hardships, and amazing times – but only ‘Time Will Tell’ what’s next.”

The video that accompanies the band’s new song does well to help translate the message in the song’s lyrical theme. It features the band performing its new single in a studio setting in a variety of outfits meant to match what specific labels are perhaps looking for as representatives from those labels reject them one by one. The band does not shy away from taking aim at just some of the labels that have perhaps rejected it over time. Among the labels spoofed in the video are Atlantic and Fearless. It is that visual reminder that again, time will tell what happens and to just accept what happens and move on.
