Breaking Benjamin guitarist Keith Wallen will release his solo debut next month.

Wallen’s new album, This World or the Next One is scheduled for release Aug. 13. In anticipation of the album’s release, Wallen premiered the video for the album’s lead single, ‘Wildfire’ Friday.

The video is a simple presentation. It features a silhouette of a person against a red background, singing. The figure is assumed to be Wallen. Various video effects are used to keep the video engaging and entertaining.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Wildfire’ is a flowing melodic rock ballad. It is grounded in the balance of its guitar, piano, and vocals.

The lyrical theme is centered on the all too familiar topic of toxic relationships, according to comments from Wallen.

“Wildfire is about loving someone with every ounce of your soul even though you know they are not right for you,” he said. “Even though your brain is telling you over and over that it’s not the healthiest situation, you ultimately resolve to accept that the heart wants what the heart wants.”
