Sydney Sherwood and Kason Lester recently partnered for the performance of a new single.

The American Idol alums debut the song, ‘Cycle of Silence‘ Aug. 26. As Sherwood — who released her sophomore EP, Headspace in February through Keep It Simple Records — stated in a prepared statement, the song centers lyrically on the impact and importance of proper communication in a relationship.

“‘Cycle of Silence’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever recorded,” she said. “I had the idea for it back in the winter and wrote it with my talented friends, Joe Makoviecki and Brian Craddock. It’s about two people who are in a constant state of miscommunication, who wish that they could fix things, but aren’t really willing to hear each other out. I brought it to my good friend Kason Lester, who I met on American Idol and asked him to help me bring the duet to life and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! “

The song’s musical arrangement is a catchy melodic rock song that likens itself to works from the likes of fellow American Idol alum, Chris Daughtry. It is a good fit for any adult contemporary and/or Top 40 radio programmer’s play list.

‘Cycle of Silence’ is available to stream and download through Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon.
