Saliva drummer Paul Crosby and his sons have started their own new band.

The group — composed of Crosby and his sons Zac and Sean, and bassist Richie Hey — is known as ColdWards (pronounced Cold Words). The band is scheduled to release its debut album, Bloodwork in 2022. An exact release date is under consideration.

In anticipation of the album’s release, the band premiered the album’s lead single, ‘Say Something‘ and its companion video Thursday. The song’s musical arrangement is a melodic hard rock style composition that also incorporates a touch of emo punk for a unique overall approach and sound. Crosby’s oldest son Sean handles vocal duties on the song while youngest song Zac handles backing vocals and electronics in the song.

Paul talked about the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.

“’Say Something’ is about a person’s struggle with their addiction and the battle that they endure within themselves while feeling like they’re alone in their own personal war, like they’re a complete outcast in a room full of people just waiting for someone to reach out to them about it,” he said.

The song’s video features the band in a dark forest setting as the band performs the new single. Various, quick shots are edited together along with varying blue, and black and white filters to add to the overall impact.
