Mushroomhead premiered the video for its latest single this week.

The band launched the video for its new single, ‘A Requiem For Tomorrow’ Wednesday. The song and video are the fifth from the band’s latest album, A Wonderful Life (2020). The album has already produced the singles, ‘Seen It All,‘ ‘The Heresy,’ ‘Madness Within’ and ‘Carry On.’

Mushroomhead founding member and the video’s director Steve “Skinny” Felton talked about the video’s creation in a prepared statement.

“Dr. F (Ryan Farrell) and the Cleveland Chamber Choir did such an amazing job that I felt compelled to bring it to life a little further,” he said. “Some of the elements and characters in the video are roughly based on a short story that I’ve been working on for SK1INDUSTRIES.”

Felton added, “Working under Covid conditions and restrictions certainly has put limitations on things, so I would personally like to thank the band, all of the crew and extras that believed and busted their asses to help me make this happen. Music and art is a privilege after all, and I don’t take any of this for granted…”

The video for ‘Requiem For Tomorrow’ is a unique presentation that is fitting for the band’s history of producing horror-related videos. It presents an occult style look as two hooded figures with long, creepy fingers conjure the band members from a pit as the noted choral presentation plays over the visualization. Eventually the band, donned in its new masks and gear, appear and handle the song’s heavier second movement.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the video’s premiere.
