Independent rock band Attack of the Rising opened the weekend with the premiere of tis latest single and the song’s video.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Burning Daylight’ is a driving composition that is centered around its intense guitar line. The equally powerful vocals and rich rhythm section add their own touch to the arrangement, too. The overall instrumentation exhibits influence from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal alongside some more modern hard rock influence. The whole makes the arrangement engaging and entertaining in its own right. The song’s lyrical theme makes for its own interest.
Drummer Chris Lepre discussed the song’s lyrical theme in the band’s interview with Brutal Planet Magazine. He said the song’s theme “touches on the working class and union struggle, and how we must continue to fight to keep what we’ve earned.” He added, “It also speaks directly about the waterfront strike of 1934 called Bloody Thursday. We are all in this together, fighting injustices and for basic human rights.”
The video for the band’s new single presents footage of various socio-politically charged history to help deliver the noted theme. Those moments include America’s involvement in Vietnam, President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, and the destruction of the Berlin Wall among other visuals. It also notes the names of so many people in America’s history who have been killed by law enforcement.
