Indie neo-folk dup Steve and Ginie Jackson premiered the third single from their forthcoming album this week.
The duo premiered its new single, ‘Help Me!‘ Wednesday. The song is the third single from its forthcoming album, Colder Than The Sea, which is scheduled for release May 26 through Thousand Islands Records. The album has also produced the singles, ‘Tear My Voice‘ and ‘7 Billion People‘.
The musical arrangement featured in this latest single from the married duo is a full-on bluegrass tune, setting itself clearly apart from the album’s other singles. The immediate comparison that comes to mind is to works from the likes of Steep Canyon Rangers.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the song’s premiere. In listening to the song, it comes across as being a theme of someone who is working to come to terms with accepting that they need help. That help could be in a variety of ways. This is just this critic’s interpretation.
