ESPN Networks To Offer Extensive Coverage Of The 2015 NBA Draft Presented By State Farm

The 2014 – 2015 NBA season is officially in the books. But the road to the 2015 – 2016 season has already begun.

This Thursday, June 25th, ESPN will carry exclusive coverage of the 2015 NBA Draft presented by State Farm live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. Coverage for this year’s draft is expected to begin at 7pm ET. This year’s broadcast marks the 13th consecutive year that ESPN has carried the draft. NBA fans that won’t be near a TV during the draft won’t have to worry about missing a minute of its coverage as they can hear all the coverage on ESPN radio and online via WatchESPN. Rece Davis will anchor this year’s broadcast. He will be joined at the desk by ESPN college basketball analyst and NBA Draft expert Jay Bilas, college basketball analyst Jay Williams, and NBA analyst Jalen Rose. Mark Kestecher will anchor ESPN Radio’s broadcast. He will be joined by Ryen Rusillo and analyst P.J. Carlesimo for additional insight and commentary.

ESPN’s coverage and insight of this year’s NBA Draft presented by State Farm doesn’t stop at the desk. ESPN NBA analyst Tom Penn will add to the network’s coverage with front office perspective while ESPN college basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla have a look at international players poised to be drafted into the NBA. Heather Cox will be in the green room and Shannon Spake, new to the draft this year, will have interviews with draftees once selections are made. ESPN college basketball insiders Andy Katz and Jeff Goodman will each offer additional draft and NBA news throughout the broadcast. Brian Windhorst, Ramona Shelburne, and Chris Broussard will each be embedded with one of three teams throughout the Draft for even more coverage–Windhorst with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Shelburne with the Lakers and Broussard with the Knicks.

Leading up to the big night, ESPN2 will air a special one-hour NBA Draft preview show Wednesday night at 7pm ET. Following the Draft, ESPNU will provide Post-Draft coverage beginning at midnight. Anish Shroff, Tim Welsh, and Seth Greenberg will be on hand for commentary.

ESPN To Broadcast NBA Draft For 12th Consecutive Year This Thursday

The NBA season is over. But that doesn’t mean that the NBA is completely done for the season. Officials with ESPN have announced that the Worldwide Leader in Sports will have exclusive coverage of the league’s annual draft this year.

The 2014 NBA Draft presented by State Farm will be broadcast live this Thursday, June 26th on ESPN. It marks the twelfth consecutive year that ESPN has broadcasted the annual draft event. It also marks the second consecutive year that the draft has come live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Rece Davis will anchor the broadcast from ESPN’s main set. Davis will be joined by ESPN college basketball inside Jay Bilas and ESPN NBA analysts Jalen Rose and Bill Simmons.

Thursday’s live broadcast from the Barclays center will be preceded by ESPN’s NBA Draft Preview Show Wednesday, June 25th at 7pm on ESPN2. ESPNU will also broadcast the ESPNU Draft Special each day this week from 4 – 5 and the ESPNU Draft Recap at midnight Thursday after the draft.

Throughout Thursday’s broadcast of the 2014 NBA Draft presented by State Farm, audiences will get extra in-depth analysis from ESPN basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla and ESPN NBA analyst Tom Penn. Fran Fraschilla will offer insights on international prospects. Jeff Goodman, Heather Cox, Chris Broussard, Andy Katz and Jay Williams will each have reports and interviews. Marc Kestecher will anchor ESPN Radio’s simulcast of the 2014 NBA Draft presented by State Farm. Analysts P.J. Carlesimo and Ryen Rusillo will offer extra commentary for the broadcast.

ESPN2, ESPNU Covering 2014 NBA Draft Combine

ESPN and ESPNU will bring viewers ten hours of live 2014 NBA Draft Combine coverage May 15th and 16th.

The networks’ extensive coverage, which will come live from Quest Multi-Sport Complex in Chicago, Illinois, begins this morning at 10am ET on ESPNU. The network will carry three hours of coverage from 10am ET to 1pm ET both today and tomorrow, May 16th. ESPN2 will carry two hours of coverage both days from 1pm ET to 3pm ET. Fans will also be able to see coverage of the Draft Combine online via WatchESPN.

Ryen Rusillo, co-host of ESPN Radio’s SVP & Rusillo, will host the NBA Draft Combine. He will be joined by ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Williams, ESPN NBA analyst Tom Penn, ESPN college basketball analyst and International basketball expert Fran Fraschilla, ESPN NBA Insider Chad Ford and ESPN college basketball reporter Andy Katz. ESPN.com’s Chris Forsberg and David Thorpe will both be on-site for live reports.

Coverage will include live interviews with players, coaches, scouts and even team heads. Viewers will also get to see how potential draft picks do throughout their various physical tests. Those tests include: the Vertical Leap, Lane Agility Drill, and ¾ Court Sprint. They will also face shooting and shuttle drills. ESPN2 and ESPNU will also both offer a number of ways to keep up with the players’ personal numbers throughout the Draft Combine. There will be a scroll at the bottom of the screen keeping track of their numbers. Both networks will also offer various graphics, on-court demonstrations, and vignettes profiling the players’ college performances. SportsCenter will also show highlights of the combine throughout various segments of the show.

President Obama To Appear On The Herd With Colin Cowherd This Morning

ESPN’s Colin Cowherd will play host to the Commander in Chief this morning.

President Barack Obama will make a special appearance on ESPN Radio’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd this morning at 11am ET/8am PT.  The broadcast will be simulcast on ESPNU.  President Obama will discuss his bracket for this year’s NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, paying college athletes, and “one and done” in college basketball.

President Obama filled out his bracket predictions for both the Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division I Basketball tournaments in an ESPN exclusive this week.  He was joined by ESPN’s Andy Katz and Rebecca Lobo for the exclusive.  President Obama has Arizona, Florida, Louisville, and Michigan State in the Men’s Final Four with Michigan State winning it all.  On the women’s side, President Obama chose Connecticut, Louisville, Notre Dame, and Stanford making it to the Final Four.

Hoyas, Ducks Face Off At Annual Armed Forces Classic

Georgetown University and the University of Oregon will face off in this year’s annual Armed Forces Classic presented by ESPN.  The game, in its second year, will be broadcast from the United States Army Garrison Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, South Korea.  It will air this Friday, November 8th at 8pm ET/10am local time on ESPN.  It all kicks off with SportsCenter Special: Armed Forces Classic pregame show at 7:30pm ET.  The Hoyas and Ducks will face each other inside the base’s three-story, 110,000 square foot Humphreys Community Fitness Center.

The now annual basketball game is at the heart of ESPN’s fifth annual America’s Heroes: A Salute to Our Veterans.  The celebration is a five-day effort that honors those that serve, have served, and those preparing to serve.  The network’s special programming runs from Wednesday, November 6th – Sunday, November 10th.  Dan Shulman will anchor the broadcast.  He will be joined by analyst Jay Bilas and courtside reporter Andy Katz.  Kevin Connors will anchor the game’s pre-game broadcast.  He will be joined by analyst Jay Williams.  The pair will also have halftime and post-game coverage.  The pair will welcome Georgetown’s own John Thompson III as a special guest on the pre-game broadcast.

The Hoyas are currently second in the Big East pre-season.  Number 19 Oregon has been picked to finish number four in the Pac-12 preseason media poll.
