Angels & Airwaves is picking up the push for its new album.

The band unveiled the latest single Wednesday, from its forthcoming album, Lifeforms. The song, ‘Timebomb,’ is the fifth from the album, which is scheduled for release Friday.

The band premiered the video for the album’s fourth single, ‘Spellbound’ early this month. Its release was preceded by the release of the album’s other singles, ‘Losing My Mind,‘ ‘Restless Souls,‘ and ‘Euphoria.‘

Front man Tom DeLonge said in a prepared statement, the song is meant lyrically, to address the feelings of pressure through which everyone goes through.

“‘Timebomb’ is a special song to me because it represents the emotional equivalent of an armed device about to blow, said DeLonge. “I think everyone can relate to the pressure of life bearing down on a young teenage heart.  It’s taken me a long time to present my art in the way I envisioned over a decade ago. Lifeforms is the first part of what I saw could be possible then.”

The musical arrangement that accompanies the song’s accessible lyrical theme is itself accessible. Its full-on electronic sound and stylistic approach is infectious what with its steady beat and harmonies.

In related news, Angels & Airwaves is scheduled to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live Sept. 28. Additionally, the band is scheduled to launch its tour in support of its new album the very next day in Riverside, CA.

Angels & Airwaves Unveils More New Music From Its Next Album; Tour Scheduled To Launch Later This Month

Angels & Airwaves is giving audiences yet another preview of its new album, Lifeforms.

The band premiered the video for its latest single, ‘Spellbound’ Wednesday. The video and single are the fourth from the band’s forthcoming album,  Lifeforms, which is scheduled for release Sept. 29. The band premiered the album’s then latest single, ‘Losing My Mind‘ in late July.

The debut of ‘Losing My Mind’ was preceded by that of the album’s second single, ‘Restless Souls‘ June 15. Its premiere followed that of the album’s lead single, ‘Euphoria‘ and its video May 19.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Spellbound’ takes audiences back to the electronic approach and sound that the band used primarily in ‘Restless Souls.’ In the case of this song’s arrangement, it exhibits a sound that leans back to the new wave sound of the 1980s.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the premiere of the single’s video. In reading through the song’s lyrics though, it would seem that the song’s lyrical theme focuses on the all too familiar theme of a relationship between two people that is in a difficult place.

The video for ‘Spellbound’ also features something of an 80s leaning. The use of the lasers and general cinematography as the band performs its new single clearly exhibits that influence.

In other news, Angels & Airwaves is scheduled to launch its North American tour in support of Lifeforms later this month.

Angels & Airwaves Premieres More New Music From Its New Album; Tour To Launch Saturday

Angels & Airwaves is giving audiences another preview of its new album.

The band premiered its new single, ‘Losing My Mind’ and its companion video Thursday. The song is the third single from the band’s forthcoming album, Lifeforms, which is scheduled for release Sept. 29.

The premiere of ‘Losing My Mind’ and its video comes more than a month after the band premiered the album’s second single, ‘Restless Souls’ and its video. The band premiered the album’s lead single, ‘Euphoria‘ and its video May 19.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Losing My Mind’ opens in a distinctly pop style fashion. The use of the light, bouncy bass line may lead some audiences to immediately make a comparison to works from Bloodhound Gang, oddly enough. However, as the song builds, the arrangement turns more in a pop rock style direction, making for even more appeal through that contrast.

According to comments from front man Tom DeLonge, the song’s lyrical theme delivers a social commentary about the state of the world today. He had the following to say of the song’s lyrical content: “I wanted to write a song about a totally insane idea that would never happen, like, what if our own country was being torn apart by racists, a pandemic, and domestic terrorism, but all at the same time… you know, just normal made up shit that would never happen.”

The video for ‘Losing My Mind’ features a guest appearance by TikTok dance star “Rampage.” The video features “Rampage” making his way through a city at night, dancing from point to point as the band’s new single plays over the visuals.

In other news, Angels and Airwaves is scheduled to launch a tour in support of its new album Saturday in Chicago, IL at the annual Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago, IL. The tour is scheduled to run through March 22, 2022 and features performances in cities worldwide, such as Leeds, UK; Nashville, TN and Phoenix, AZ.
