Shout! Factory is set to re-issue a pair of classic comedies on Blu-ray next month.

Cheech & Chong’s Next Movie is scheduled to be released Tuesday, June 13. In the second of the famed comic duo’s big screen offerings, Cheech has to deal with an angry neighbor all while dealing with losing his job.  He also meets an attractive young woman with whom he hopes to have some fun.

Tommy doesn’t miss out on the fun.  This time out, he meets  Cheech’s cousin ( played by Cheech Marin) and the pair ends up making its way around Hollywood, getting in plenty of trouble along the way.  There are mishaps at a music store, a brothel, a comedy club and many other places that will leave audiences in stitches.

The dual-pronged story presented in Cheech & Chong’s Next Movie is not its only key elements. Guest appearances by Edie McClurg, Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson, John “Jambi” Paragon, Phil Hartman and a very young Paul Reubens add to the movie’s interest.

As if that is not enough, the movie also boasts a new interview with star Cheech Marin as bonus content.  An original theatrical trailer for the movie is also included with radio spots as additional bonus content.

Cheech & Chong’s Next Movie will retail for MSRP of $27.99 but can be pre-ordered online now via Shout! Factory’s online store for $22.99.

The second of the classic comedies set to be re-issued by Shout! Factory next month is Car Wash.  Richard Pryor leads an outstanding cast that plays the staff and customers of a Los Angeles car wash in this flick.

In this laugh riot comedy, audiences  are treated to the life in the day of a car wash in Los Angeles.  There is an attempted robbery, a chase with a man believed to be the “pop bottle bomber” and even an appearance by Pryor’s money hungry preacher “Wonder-Man,” who was based on a real life televangelist.  The movie is believed by some to be the forebear to Ice Cube’s Friday and Barbershop.

Car Wash will retail for MSRP of $27.99 but can be pre-ordered at a reduced price of $22.99 via Shout! Factory’s online store.
