Ellefson Coffee Company Announces Appearances To Promote New Drink

Megadeth bassist Dave Ellfson’s success as an entrepreneur just keeps growing.

Just announced Thursday, Ellefson has announced some new in-person appearances alongside The Ron Keel Band to promote the growth of Ellefson’s beverage offerings and the release of The Ron Keel Band’s album Metal Cowboy Reloaded. Ellefson, who will be on hand at each of the four currently scheduled appearances — March 16 – March 18 — will be promoting Ellefson Coffee Company’s new Urban Legend Coffee Stout alcoholic drink alongside Sioux Falls microbrewery Hydra Beer Company.

The forthcoming debut of the new drink come on the heels of the successful January debut of Combat Blood and Bullets Cabernet, a 2015 California cabernet, and Combat Hard Cider. The cider is infused with Ellefson Coffee Company’s coffee. Both drinks were cellared and bottled by Scottsdale, AZ’s Desert Rock Winery. Both drinks are also available online at http://www.combatwines.com.

As noted already, The Ron Keel Band will also be on hand at some of the currently scheduled appearances. The band’s performances at the dates, listed below, are in promotion for the upcoming release of its album Metal Cowboy Reloaded. It will be available in stores and online March 23 via EMP Outlaw, the outlaw country arm of EMP Label Group.

Ellefson Coffee Company Debuting New Lines At Winter NAMM

Ellefson Coffee Company is appearing at this year’s annual Winter NAMM.

The company is exhibiting at Anaheim Convention Center in Hall D, Booth 3905. It will be there along with company head Dave Ellefson’s EMP Label Group and its imprints, EMP Underground, EMP Outlaw, THC Music and the recently re-launched Combat Records.

ECC is debuting new signature coffee lines during its appearance at Winter NAMM including the Skid Row line, “Slave to the Grind,” Autograph’s “Get Off Your Ass” and “Whip’s Pacific Blend” from Michael Wilton (Queensryche, Skid Row). Ellefson himself will be on hand to help promote the new coffee lines as well the bands on the EMP Label Group family. Those acts include Doyle, Metal Allegiance, Marc Rizzo (Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy) and many others.

Ellefson Coffee Company Announces Another Year-End Celebration

Ellefson Coffee Company has announced a special new holiday event to celebrate its new retail outlets.

The company will hold a special event Dec. 16 at Maverick Coffee in Scottsdale, AZ to celebrate the company’s expansion into that and a number of other stores nationwide. The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature a number of events including a meet and greet with Dave Ellefson, the company’s founder, and acoustic performances from EMP Label Group acts Doll Skin and Co-Op, featuring Dash Cooper and a holiday toy driveto benefit AZ Helping Hands.

Ellefson said in a recent interview about the event that he was looking forward to the celebration.

“Maverick is a terrific cafe that I frequent when I’m home in Scottsdale,” Ellefson said. “I’m thrilled to have Ellefson Coffee Company as part of their offerings. I look forward to seeing you all ther efor a final, year-end celebration with two of our hometown EMP Label group artists!”

Ellefson partnered with Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain early this year at the Rock N’ Roll Ribs in Coconut Creek, Fla — another ECC outlet — for another of ECC’s events. Ellefson Coffee Company To Mark Its Expansion Next Month With Hometown Party

Ellefson Coffee Company is expanding its presence in its hometown, and its founder will be on hand to help mark the occasion. .

Dave Ellefson, the company’s founder (and Megadeth bassist) will return to his hometown (and his company’s home town) Nov. 18 to celebrate the birthday of Kat’s Hog Heaven, the latest of the town’s local retailers to carry the company’s coffee. The special birthday/end-of-year celebration will feature a display of various memorabilia from Ellefson’s Museum of Deth, which includes items from throughout Ellefson’s career.

The Ron Keel Band, who recently signed to EMP Label Group’s new Southern Rock/Outlaw Country imprint EMP Outlaw will provide musical entertainment for the event. As an added touch, the celebration will also feature the debut of Ellefson Coffee Company’s new Jackson House Blend line.

Ellefson said in a recent interview that he was looking forward to the forthcoming event.

“I am so excited to return to Jackson and welcome our newest ECC retailer, Kat’s Hog Heaven, and unveil the Jackson House Blend!,” Ellefson said. “Since we started ECC we have scoured the world to find a reasonably priced coffee that will adhere to the high quality standards we have set for ECC, and we are sure we have hit the jackpot with the Jackson House Blend. Ellefson Coffee Co. Partners With Breast Cancer Charity To Launch New Blend

Ellefson Coffee Company has launched a new line to its coffee offerings.

The brainchild of Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson, the company has launched what it has dubbed Rock N’ Rose blend to its growing list of offerings. According to a news release from the company, the new blend takes the place of the recently retired She Wolf blend.

Ellefson said in a recent interview about the seasonal light-roast blend that while it is a light roast, it does have a little something extra, adding that the his company has partnered with a well-known breast cancer organization to promote the coffee.

“We wanted to introduce a new roast to replace the recently retired She-Wolf, and with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we thought it would be a great opportunity to pair up with an amazing charity like The Rose and help to raise support for breast cancer awareness. It is a rich, full blend light roast with some extra kick, that we are sure everyone is going to love.”

Rock N’ Rose will be available for a limited time via ellefsoncoffeeco.com. A portion of the sales from each bag’s sales will go to benefit The Rose, which is a Houston, TX-based breast cancer charity.

Kik Tracee Announces Compilation Release, Live Dates

90s rock act Kik Tracee will release its new compilation record this summer.

Big Western Sky is currently scheduled to be released Friday, July 17 via THC Music/EMP Label Group/Amped. The record will feature a collection of B-Sides, Demos and other rarities from the band’s classic No Rules/Field Trip era prior to its break-up in the early 90s.

In discussing the upcoming release of Big Western Sky, Shareaux said its release happened naturally.

“After all these years, why a Kik Tracee release now? The timing just felt right,” Shareaux said. We’ve been sitting on these songs for what, 25 years now? Kinda pulled them out recently and listened to the stuff and thought..you know..let’s package this stuff and put it out there for the diehard fans to relive the glory days, if you will. Or just get their Kik Tracee on, man.”

Shareaux added discussions with Thom Hazaert and representatives with THC Music led to the compilation’s creation and its upcoming release.

The announcement of the record’s impending release comes fresh on the heels of former front man Stephen Shareaux’s addition to this weekend’s grand opening of Ellefson Coffe Company’s first brick and mortar store in Jackson, MN. That performance is just one of a handful of live acoustic dates that Shareaux will perform this spring. His current live schedule is noted below.

Ellefson Coffee Company Grand Opening Celebration Grows Again

Next weekend’s grand opening of Ellefson Coffee Company’s first brick and mortar store keeps growing.

The festivities for next weekend’s grand opening of Ellefson Coffee Company’s Jackson, MN store now include performances by two more acts. Kik Tracee/Zen From Mars vocalist Stephen Shareaux and Bang Tango/Zen From Mars guitarist Drew Fortier will perform at the store throughout the weekend. The duo will perform songs from Kik Tracee and Zen From Mars over the weekend.

Also added to the weekend’s festivities is Bryn Arens, front man of beloved local Minneapolis-based band FLIPP. Arens, Shareaux and Fortier are just the latest additions to next weekend’s grand opening celebration. Local Jackson, MN-based stock car racer Luke Sathoff’s Ellefson Coffee Company-sponsored car will be on display at the store throughout the weekend, too.

The newly noted additions to next weekend’s festivities join already announced celebrities That Metal Show co-host Don Jamieson and paranormal author and investigator Adrian Lee.

Jamieson will be at the store April 8 while Lee will lead Ellefson and others on an exploration of Loon Lake Cemetery, the local Jackson, MN cemetery that inspired Megadeth’s hit song ‘Mary Jane.’

The permanently displayed “Museum of Deth,” which features artifacts and memorabilia from Ellefson’s personal collection. The items that will be on display include Ellefson’s own high school marching band uniform and memorabilia from other acts including Korn, Machine Head, Max Cavalera and Coal Chamber.

Ellefson said in a recent interview he was looking forward to next weekend’s events.

“As the grand opening draws nearer, it’s amazing to see the excitement build and be able to announce some more killer things we have planned for the grand opening and beyond!,” Ellefson said. “We have people traveling from all over the country to join us in this celebration of all things coffee and metal and we’re going to show them all a great time.”

Ellefson Coffee Co. Store To Hold Grand Opening This Spring

Ellefson Coffee Company’s first ever brick and mortar store will hold its official grand opening this spring.

The event will be held April 7 – 9. It comes almost three months after the store held its soft opening, which was held Jan. 10. The company is named after its founder, Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson.

The store is located in Ellefson’s hometown of Jackson, MN. Ellefson will be on hand for the grand opening. He will be joined by comedian and That Metal Show co-host Don Jamieson. Jameson said in a recent interview that he gladly accepted Ellefson’s request to appear at the event, while also praising the power of one of Ellefson Coffee Company’s select coffee lines.

“He’s (Ellefson) a Grammy®-winning musician, thrash metal legend and now…Mega Barista!,” Jamieson said. “When David and I spoke about this event, I was immediately excited to jump on board. In fact, after a few cups of his Kenya Thrash blend, I may just run all the way to Jackson, MN! So come raise a glass of java, and join us for this celebration of Ellefson coffee.”

Ellefson was also excited for his store’s official hard opening.

“This is our heavy metal spring break in Jackson!,” Ellefson said. “We look forward to hosting some really fun events centering around my career’s roots and history in the area, as well as a chance to see some memorabilia from my friends in music, film and TV.”

Some of the memorabilia on display at the store will include Dave’s Jackson High School marching band uniform to see, and items from other bands including Korn, Coal Chamber, Machine Head, and others.

Along with memorabilia, the store will also offer products from Ellefson’s fledgling record label, EMP Label Group for sale and Ellefson Coffee Company products.

Ellefson’s ECC partner Tom Hazaert stressed the new store, while already having been opened since January, will be a special place for coffee lovers and for Jackson, MN’s metal community for the foreseeable future.

“Not only will Ellefson Coffee Company now have a permanent face in David’s hometown, but being able to tie in EMP, and everything else we do, and with the huge sense of Megadeth history in Jackson, we are excited to be able to create a really unique and amazing (and coffee) experience that we are sure will not only be a highlight for the people of Jackson, but a destination for Megadeth fans from around the world,” Hazaert said.

As part of the store’s hard opening, author Adrian Lee will join Ellefson and company as they take visitors and customers on a haunted tour of nearby Loon Lake Cemetery. The cemetery is where one Mary Jane Terwilliger is said to be buried. According to legend, Terwilliger, born in 1862, was beheaded by residents of Petersburg, MN in 1881 after being accused of being a witch. However, research has debunked that myth, proving she in fact died at the age of 17 allegedly from diphtheria.

Due to the myth surrounding Terwilliger and her death becoming so popular, she became the topic of the song ‘Mary Jane,’ which is included in the band’s 1988 album So Far, So Good…So What! Terwilliger’s headstone stands today at the Jackson County Historical Society office.

When Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson made the decision last year to start up his own coffee company, the move was clearly a big risk. That is because Ellefson has made a living making music and spreading that music around the world. But of course all good things must come to an end. Eventually Ellefson is going to hang up his bass and call it career. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Ellefson’s risk to start up his coffee company may very well prove to be a good move. With four lines already in production—one of which, Urban Legend, being limited edition—Ellefson Coffee company looks to already be moving in the right direction. Its “Kenya Thrash” line is obviously the company’s cornerstone. That coffee is a bold blend of Arabica and Robusta coffees whose aromatic kick is just as powerful as that present in its taste and caffeine content. It is just one of the company’s standout lines. “Roast In Peace” is another one of the company’s standout lines. While its caffeine content may not be as high as that of Kenya Thrash, it still offers plenty for coffee lovers and connoisseurs to appreciate beginning with that content. Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson has been quite the busy figure in the past couple of years or so. He started his own music label, EMP Label Group, in 2015.
