TNT has announced its broadcast schedule for this week’s Thursday NBA double header slate.

Up first on the night is an Eastern Conference showdown between the Bucks and Bulls.  Thursday’s game is a big one for both teams.  Chicago currently sits second in the Central Division, 4.5 games back from the division-leading Cleveland Cavaliers.

Milwaukee on the other hand sits in the basement in the Central Division at 11 – 12 so far on the season, 6.5 games back from the Cavs.  Each team is 5 – 5 in its last 10 games, but Chicago is more primed for a win, having won its last two games.  The Bucks meanwhile have lost three straight.  So both teams will be playing hard Thursday night, one to get out of a slump and the other to extend its streak.

Brian Anderson and Reggie Miller will have the call for Thursday’s Eastern Conference, Central Division matchup between the Bucks and Bulls.  Special guest Chris Webber will also be on hand for additional commentary live from Area 21.

Next up on the night is a cross-conference matchup between the Knicks and Warriors.  Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. EST.  The Lakers have picked up the 2016 – ’17 season right where they left off last season.  The team is in the midst of a 7-game skid, 12 games back from the Western Conference, Pacific Division-leading Warriors.

New York meanwhile sits second in the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division, three games back from the division-leading Toronto Raptors, who surprised everybody last season.  New York has won two straight and is looking to keep the numbers coming in the “W” column.

Marv Albert will have the call for the game.  He will be joined by analyst Kevin McHale for additional commentary.  Reporter Lewis Johnson will also be on hand for all of the latest in-game news and interviews.

TBS To Feature AL Central Showdown on ‘Sunday MLB On TBS’

Courtesy: Turner Sports

Courtesy: Turner Sports

TBS’ Sunday MLB on TBS returns this weekend with a matchup of 1 versus 2 in the American League Central.

The Tigers and Indians will round out a three-game weekend series Sunday afternoon live on TBS. Cleveland will play host to the Tigers in the series.  Coverage of Sunday’s game begins at 1pm ET.

Trevor Bauer is expected to get the start for Cleveland in Sunday’s AL Central showdown while Daniel Norris is expected to take the mound for Detroit.  Norris’ last time on the mound was September 12 against Minnesota. Detroit got the win in that game, 4 – 2.  Norris had a strong night on the mound, allowing only two runs on five hits over six innings, two earned runs, two walks, and 2 home runs.  He had 11 Ks along the way

Only three days have passed since Bauer’s last time on the mound.  That game was Tuesday against the White Sox.  Bauer took the loss in the game, allowing six runs on six hits over 5.1 innings and one walk.  He allowed six earned runs and had seven Ks.

This weekend’s series between the Tigers and Indians is hugely important for both teams as the regular season is winding down very quickly.  The Tigers sit second in the AL Central, six games back from the division-leading Indians.  Cleveland has been strong at home this season, going 47 – 25 so far while Detroit has been lackluster at best on the road going 36 – 36 so far this season on the road.

Detroit has been far better at home, going 42 – 35 at home so far this season. On the other side of the coin, Cleveland is 37 – 37 on the road so far this season.  So the numbers favor Cleveland in this weekend’s series, including Sunday’s game between the divisional foes.

Ernie Johnson will have the call for Sunday’s game.  He will be joined in the booth by analyst Ron Darling and co-analyst and MLB Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. for additional commentary.
