ESPN wraps another week of Major League Baseball coverage this weekend with its latest edition of Sunday Night Baseball Presented by Taco Bell.  This week’s edition of the network’s flagship MLB program focuses its edition once again on the National League.

The Dodgers and Cardinals go under the lights live this week on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell in a National League interdivisional matchup.  The game is the closer in the teams’ three-game weekend series.  The Cardinals have not announced as of yet who they will have on the mound for the game.  Los Angeles meanwhile will have Scott Kazmir (8 – 3) on the mound for the game.  Kazmir’s last time on the mound was this past Tuesday, July 19th when the Dodgers faced the Washington Nationals.  The Dodgers doubled up on the Nats in that game, winning 8 – 4 with Kazmir being credited with the win.  He had an impressive outing during his 7 innings on the mound, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits, that sole run being a home run.  He had 8 Ks in the game, no walks, and just 1 earned run.

Going by the numbers, Sunday’s game (and the weekend’s series) could go either way.  Los Angeles is 24 – 25 on the road so far this season and 6 – 4 in its last ten games while St. Louis is 24 – 28 at home and 7 – 3 in its last ten games.  However, the Cardinals are currently in the midst of a 4-game win streak while Los Angeles just picked up another win Thursday against the Nationals.  Coverage of Sunday night’s game begins at 8pm.  Dan Shulman will have the call for the game.  He will be joined in the booth by analysts Aaron Boone and Jessica Mendoza for additional commentary.  Reporter Buster Olney will have all of the latest in-game news and interviews throughout the game.

Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown will precede Sunday’s game beginning at 7pm ET.  Adnan Virk will anchor the broadcast.  He will be joined at the desk by Dallas Braden and ESPN MLB Insider Tim Kurkjian.  More information on Sunday’s National League interdivisional matchup between the Dodgers and Cardinals is available online now along with all of the latest MLB headlines at:
