ESPN Announces Early Broadcast Schedule For 2020-21 College Basketball Season

College basketball is back!

The ESPN networks will kick off the 2020-2021 college basketball season at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The season opens with Illinois on the road against No. 23 Ohio State on ESPN and Kansas State hosting Drake on ESPNU. Memphis and St. Mary’s will face off in the Quarterfinal #2 of the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic on ESPN2.

Play continues at 4 p.m. ET as Louisville hosts Evansville on the ACC Network. Quarterfinal #1, featuring a matchup of Northern Iowa and Western Kentucky follows at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU. No. 10 Kentucky will host Morehead State at 6 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.

Over on ESPN+, Northwestern State will visit No. 14 Texas Tech. That game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. An hour later at 8 p.m. ET No. 19 Texas will host UT Rio Grande Valley on The Longhorn Network.

The opening day of ESPN’s college basketball opening day winds down at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Quarterfinal #4 of the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic, featuring a matchup of VCU and Utah State, finishes the day.

Unbeatens Take Center Stage On ESPN Networks’ College Football Broadcasts This Saturday

It’s only Monday. But ESPN is giving all the college football fans out there reason to look forward to this weekend with an announcement today for this weekend’s college football coverage.

Officials with ESPN announced today a very busy broadcast schedule for Saturday across its family of networks. That schedule includes a triple header on ABC beginning at noon eastern time between the Texans and Sooners live from the Cotton Bowl. The annual “Red River Rivalry” between the Longhorns and the #10 ranked Oklahoma Sooners will mark the 110th time that the Big 12 foes have faced off. It will be followed up Saturday afternoon on ABC either by the #6 Clemson Tigers taking on the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets or the Wisconsin Badgers taking on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. ESPN 2 will run the game not aired on ABC. Broadcast for both is scheduled for 3:30pm ET. Saturday’s schedule on ABC will be rounded out at 8pm ET with the undefeated #12 Florida State Seminoles taking on the Miami Hurricanes.

Over on The SEC Network the also undefeated #11 Florida Gators will cap off the network’s broadcast schedule as they face off against Missouri at 7:30pm ET. And on ESPNU, unbeaten #22 Iowa will take on Illinois at high noon. Later in the night, the #5 Utah Utes host #23 California in a Pac-12 showdown. As additional notes, #7 LSU will be on the road Saturday against the Gamecocks at noon and #8 Alabama will take on Arkansas at 7pm ET. ESPN Releases Record Broadcast Schedule For 2015 NCAA College Baseball Season

ESPN announced Monday its broadcast schedule for the 2015 NCAA college baseball season.

The announcement from officials with the Worldwide Leader in Sports revealed that the upcoming season will be the most expansive for ESPN and the ESPN family of networks. That is because in all, ESPN and the ESPN family of networks will broadcast more than 675 regular-season games. This includes the fledgling Longhorn Network, SEC Network, SEC Network+ and ESPN3. ESPN3’s coverage of the 2015 NCAA college baseball season begins next Friday, February 13^th at 4pm as the #12 Florida State Seminoles host the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies.

Along with its extensive regular-season broadcast schedule, ESPN will also offer post-season coverage of the conference tournaments and the NCAA Division I College Baseball Championship. LHN To Air Longhorns’ Season Opener

Officials with ESPN and the Longhorn Network announced this week that the Longhorn Network will air the season opener for the Longhorns’ 2014 football season.

The Longhorns will face off against the North Texas Eagles to open the team’s season. The game is scheduled to be broadcast live on Saturday, August 30^th at 8 ET/7 CT. It will be the fourth year in a row that the Longhorn Network has aired the Longhorns’ season opener and the ninth game to air live on the LHN. To top it all off, the matchup will be the debut of Texas’ new head coach Charlie Strong.

LHN’s Texas GameDay will return this year, too. The weekly pre-game broadcast is scheduled to begin at 6 ET/5 CT. It will broadcast live from its set at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The post-game Texas GameDay Final powered by Chevy Silverado will immediately follow the game.

The Longhorn Network is available on AT&T’s U-Verse TV, DISH Network, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS TV as well as Bay City CableVision, Cablevision, Charter Communications, Consolidated Communications, Cox Communications, En-Touch Systems, E-Tex Communications, Grande Communications, Google Fiber (in Kansas City), Mid-Coast CableVision and Texas Mid-Gulf CableVision. Current U.S.-based military personnel can also access the Longhorn Network free of cost via all computers and mobile internet platforms connected to on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks. ESPN, DISH Reach New Deal For Longhorn Network Broadcast Rights

Fans of the Texas Longhorns have another reason to be happy this morning. That’s because a new deal between ESPN and Dish Network will allow DISH to carry the Longhorn Network to fans across the country. It’s just one part of a much bigger deal announced this week between DISH and the Walt Disney company. The new deal between ESPN and DISH more than doubles LHN’s national distribution. According to terms of the deal, The Longhorn Network will be available to DISH customers on the America’s Top 120+ and higher packages beginning later this Summer. Audiences will be able to get information on where LHN will be on their carrier later this year online at http://www.dish.com.

The expanded television coverage of the Longhorn Network is just one positive of the new deal between DISH and ESPN. LHN fans that receive the network as part of their satellite service will also be able to get live coverage online at home and via mobile internet on their computers and iOS devices.

Justin Connolly, Senior VP of college networks, was positive in his comments about the announcement. “This agreement with DISH presents a tremendous opportunity to bring Longhorn Network’s robust content offerings to Texas fans across the country,” he said.

ESPN’s deal with UT to broadcast the Longhorn Network, which originally debuted in 2011, lasts for twenty years. Steve Patterson, University of Texas Athletics Director, shared his thoughts on the extended agreement and other topics in an interview. “We are excited to have DISH join the growing list of LHN providers,” he said. “UT fans nationwide will now have access to this award-winning network that does such a great job in covering our university’s sports and academics programs. As we have said from day one, this is a long-term commitment and we are very proud of our partnership with ESPN.”

Dave Shull, DISH Executive VP and CCO also shared his thoughts on the brand new deal. “DISH is the best place for college sports fans to follow the teams they love,” he said. “ESPN has a long tradition of delivering the best in sports, and we are proud to be the first nationwide television provider of the Longhorn Network.”
