Lovebreakers Premieres New Album’s Lead Single, Video; Announces New Live Dates

Independent rock band Lovebreakers is set to release its sophomore album, Wonder, this year through Wiretap Records.

The record’s exact release date is under consideration. In anticipation of the record’s release, the band unveiled the album’s lead single, ‘Spark‘ Friday along with its companion video.

The song’s mid-tempo arrangement is a catchy poppy rock composition that immediately lends itself to comparison to works from the likes of Oasis and Blur. According to front man Jack Perry, the lyrical theme that accompanies that arrangement is meant to come across as an uplifting message of sorts, reminding listeners that we all go through difficult periods in life.

“‘Spark’ portrays a person who has lost all motivation and as a result, become fed up with who they are,” Perry said. “Some days we bathe in self-pity, whether that is disliking the way that we look, the way we treat ourselves or simply through boredom in our lives. “Spark” is a song which represents a lack of activity, alongside a constant battle of trying be a better person.’’

‘Spark’ is available now to download and stream through Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer and Amazon Music.

In other news, Lovebreakers launched a tour in support of its new album Sunday in Glasgow, Scotland. The tour is scheduled to run through Friday in Birmingham, England. The tour’s schedule is noted below:

Lovebreakers Debuts ‘Primary Colours’ Video

Lovebreakers’ recently released single, ‘Laura‘ apparently was not the last from its forthcoming debut album.

The band announced in March, that the song in question was the last from its new album, Primary Colours, which is scheduled for release Friday through Wiretap Records. However on Monday, the band released the video for what is now the album’s fifth single in the form of the album’s title track.

The premiere of ‘Primary Colours’ follows — again — that of ‘Laura,’ as well as that of the songs: ‘Family Man,’ ‘Horizons,’ and ‘Eye Roller,’

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Primary Colours’ is a catchy pop-rock style composition. The light guitars and vocal delivery hints at a 1980s rock influence. More specifically, it lends itself to comparison to perhaps work from the J. Geils Band.

No information was provided in the press release announcing the debut of the band’s new single. A close listen leads to the belief that the song’s lyrical theme focuses on perhaps just he need to get away from all the negativity surrounding one’s self. That is just this critic’s own interpretation.

The video for ‘Primary Colours’ features the band’s member performing the new song in front of a green screen. The screen in question places imagery, such as palm trees, the open road and various geometric shapes behind the band members.

Pre-orders are open for Primary Colours through the band’s official Bandcamp page, and on vinyl in the U.S. and UK. More information on the band’s new album, single, and video is available along with all of the band’s latest news at:

Independent rock band Lovebreakers will release its debut album later this year.

The band is scheduled to release its new album, Primary Colours later this year through Wiretap Records. In anticipation of its release, the band premiered the album’s latest single, ‘Laura,’ Wednesday, along with its video

‘Laura’ is the fourth and final single from the forthcoming album. Its premiere followed that of ‘Family Man,’ ‘Horizons,’ and ‘Eye Roller,’

‘Laura’ features a poppy, guitar-driven musical arrangement that lends itself to comparison to works from the likes of The Mylars and The Killers, just to name a couple of similar acts. The song’s lyrical theme is straight forward. It is a song in which a man is declaring his adoration for a certain woman, named Laura.

The video for ‘Laura’ is meant to reflect a live setting in the absence of live music.

Pre-orders are open for Primary Colours through the band’s official Bandcamp page, and on vinyl in the U.S. and UK. More information on the band’s new album, single, and video is available along with all of the band’s latest news at:

Lovebreakers Celebrates Parenthood With New Single, Video

Independent rock band Lovebreakers gave audiences their first preview of its new album last week.

The band debuted its new single ‘Family Man‘ Nov. 12. The song is the lead single from the band’s forthcoming album Primary Colours, which is scheduled for release in spring through Wiretap Records in the U.S. and through Little Rocket Records in the United Kingdom.

The song’s video features the band performing its new single against a backdrop that constantly changes colors through the course of the nearly three minute song. Its upbeat guitar licks and vocals are instantly infectious and will appeal to fans of so many UK-based pop and punk bands.

According to front man Jack Perry, the song’s lyrical theme matches the equally upbeat, positive sense established in the song’s musical arrangement.

“The song tells a short story of someone who has just became a parent,” he said. “It’s influenced from some close friends of mine who recently started their own families. It’s a “homage” to those guys. It’s that back and forth of “DAMN THIS SUCKS, BUT I WOULDN’T CHANGE IT FOR THE WORLD.” The verses are the negative side of things and the pre choruses/choruses are the positive side.”

‘Family Man’ is available to stream and download here.
