Sweet Teeth Debuts New Single, ‘No Me’

Courtesy: Lovely Records

Punk rock act Sweet Teeth debuted its new single, ‘No Me‘ this week.

The band premiered the song Friday through Lovely Records. It is featured in the band’s album, High Anxiety, which is expected for release this year. The album’s release date and other information is under consideration.

‘No Me’ is Sweet Teeth’s first new music since the premiere of its then latest single, ‘Shattered Glass Face‘ and its companion video last July. The song is featured in the band’s debut EP, Acid Rain.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘No Me’ is a driving composition. It barely tops the 90-second mark, but still ensures audiences’ engagement and entertainment throughout that short run time. It is comparable to works from the likes of Husker Du and Dinosaur Jr. In the same vein, audiences can also argue that the song boasts a similarity in its sound and style to works from Foo Fighters. To that end, one could argue that Foo Fighters may have gotten much of its influence from those bands, too.

The lyrical theme featured in ‘No Me’ is a familiar rock theme, according to a statement from the band.

“Lyrically, it handles the most overtly punk stance you can have, namely ”I don’t care what anyone thinks about me and I’ll do what the f* I want,” the statement reads. “Childish? Well maybe.. but does it ever get old? Never!”

Omni Of Halos Debuts New EP’s Second Single, Video

Courtesy: Lovely Records

Independent punk band Omni of Halos debuted its new single and video this week.

The band kicked off the weekend with the premiere of its new single, ‘Care Free‘ and its companion video. The song and its video are the second from the band’s forthcoming EP, Care Free, which is scheduled for release May 20 through Lovely Records. The band premiered the EP’s lead single, ‘You Suck‘ and its companion video last month.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Care Free’ is a unique presentation that sets itself apart from ‘You Suck.’ The fuzzed effect from the guitars is once again evident. The use of the slide guitar is even more evident, too. It gives the song an intriguing blend of influences that is just as certain to engage and entertain audiences.

Guitarist/vocalist Henrik Hjelt Rostberg said of the song’s lyrical content that it is “about a close friend that I’ve lost.”

The video for ‘Care Free’ features live footage of the band performing as the song plays over the visualization.

Omni Of Halos Debuts New EP’s Lead Single, Video

Courtesy: Lovely Records

Independent punk band Omni of Halos debuted its new single and video this week.

The band premiered its new single, ‘You Suck‘ and its companion video Thursday. The song is featured in the band’s forthcoming EP, Care Free, which is scheduled for release in May. An exact release date is under consideration.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘You Suck’ is a rich composition, full of fuzz from the guitars. The vocals are somewhat washed out by the immense wall of sound, but just audible enough.

According to front man Henrik Hjelt Rostberg, the song’s lyrical theme centers on the all too familiar topic of toxic relationships.

”The song came out of an old riff that’s been haunting me since my teens,” he said. “It’s about old experiences being in toxic relationships. The title speaks for itself”

The video for ‘You Suck’ is a simple presentation. It features the band recording its new single in a studio setting whose curtains let in just enough light. The mood set by the light is an interesting contrast to the mood set through the song’s lyrical theme.

Deaf Lingo Announces New LP Release Date; Debuts Record’s New Single

Courtesy: Lovely Records

Independent rock band Deaf Lingo is scheduled to release its new album this spring.

The band is scheduled to release its new album, Lingonberry, April 29 through Lovely Records. In anticipation of the album’s release the band premiered its second single, ‘Friends‘ Friday.

As with the album’s lead single, ‘Sleeping,‘ the song’s arrangement is a solid DIY style garage punk composition. Even barely topping the two minute mark, the song leaves listeners feeling like it is longer in the best way possible. This ensures audiences’ maintained engagement and entertainment.

While the song’s arrangement is an upbeat presentation, its lyrical theme is in full contrast to the positive vibes established through that musical content as front man Sandro Specchia pointed out.

“‘Friends’ is a pessimistic song and it’s about friends leaving the country and the feeling of being alone in the suburbs with nothing to do,” he said.

The band premiered its new single, ‘Drifter‘ Friday. The song is the fifth single from the band’s forthcoming album, Unflavored, which is expected for release in March through Lovely Records. An exact release date is under consideration.

The band talked about the song’s musical arrangement and its lyrical theme in a prepared statement.

“Drifter is a song about being on the run, but it was also written with a nostalgic and melancholic feeling,” the statement reads. “It brings more of an up-tempo punk beat compared to our previous single Serpent Eyes, while not neglecting the feeling of 80s new wave. The single captures the grand sound of Turbinen studio, where it was recorded by Kristofer Jönson.”

In other news, the band has announced a new tour in support of its new album. The tour is scheduled to launch Feb. 25 in Kiel, Germany and to run through April 9 in Berlin, Germany. Deaf Lingo Signs With Lovely Records, Releases New LP’s Lead Single

Courtesy: Lovely Records

Independent rock band Deaf Lingo will release its new album, Lingonberry next year.

The album is scheduled for release in spring, with an exact release date under consideration. It will release through Lovely Records, as the band just recently signed a new deal with the label.

In anticipation of the album’s release, the band premiered the record’s lead single, ‘Sleeping‘ Friday. The song’s musical arrangement is interesting in its own right. It blends elements of garage rock, punk and even some stoner influence for a whole that holds its own. One could even argue that there is a touch of a country rock vibe about the arrangement, too, making for even more interest.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the album’s pending release and the song’s debut. No lyrics are presented with the song through the band’s official YouTube channel, either.

Rotten Mind Debuts New LP’s Lead Single; Announces New Live Dates

Courtesy: Lovely Records

Independent punk rock band Rotten Mind is scheduled to release its new album early next year.

The band is scheduled to release its new album, Unflavored, in early 2022 through Lovely Records. Its exact release date is under consideration. In anticipation of the record’s release, the band premiered the record’s lead single, ‘Serpent Eyes‘ Friday.

‘Serpent Eyes’ features a musical arrangement that takes audiences back to the new wave and punk sounds of the 80s. Specifically speaking, it lends itself to comparison to works from Billy Idol, what with its keyboards and guitars. Even the vocals play into that comparison in their own way.

Front man Jakob Arvidsson talked about the musical arrangement in a prepared statement.

“It [the song] was recorded by Kristofer Jönson (Jeniferever) at studio Turbinen in Uppsala,” the statement reads. “It’s a natural development of our sound, going for a darker and bigger soundscape as you could already hear a glimps of on previous songs like “Fyrisån” or “Not One of You” from the album “Rat City Dog Boy” from 2020.”

The lyrical theme featured alongside the song’s musical arrangement seems to address the feeling of alienation that so many people feel at points throughout their lives, according to Arvidsson.

”Serpent Eyes” is about feeling out of step with the world. Feeling like you’re an alien everywhere you go, and trying to see society in your own way to get by,” he said.

In other news, Rotten Mind has also announced a brief tour in support of its new music. The tour is scheduled to launch March 25 in Kiel, Germany and to run through April 9 in Berlin, Germany. The tour also features performances in cities across Europe, such as Amsterdam, Netherlands; Parma, Italy and Lyon, France.

The band’s tour schedule is noted below.

25.03.2022 – DE – Kiel

Nightwatchers Addresses Divisive French Domestic Policy In New Single

Courtesy: Lovely Records

Independent French punk band Nightwatchers is taking on a specific policy from its nation’s government in its new single.

The band premiered its new single, ‘Their Turn Trying To Rule The World‘ Friday through Lovely Records. The song is featured in the band’s new album, Common Crusades, which is scheduled for release Oct. 8 through Lovely Records.

The song’s musical arrangement puts forth a pure, vintage punk sound that immediately lends itself to comparison to works from the likes of the Sex Pistols. That is due in part to the general sound and stylistic approach taken in the song and also to the song’s production.

The lyrical theme featured in the band’s new song is a political commentary on a specific policy that has been a sharp point of debate for months across France. According to research, the legislation centers on the issue of alleged religious discrimination against Muslims living in France.

Front man Julien Virgos addressed that matter and its connection to the song in a recent interview.

“Their Turn Trying to Rule the World” tackles the Senate report that inspired the brand new French law against “Islamist separatism”. said Virgos. “The existence of a separatist political project is presented as a fact, without any scientific proof.”

The song is the second single from the album, following the debut of its lead single, ‘Watch The City Burn’ in October along with its video.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Let Them Know’ is a catchy, upbeat garage punk style composition. The infectious vocal delivery and the “poppy” guitar line lend themselves to comparisons to works from The Ramones. The song’s lyrical content will connect with listeners in its own way, too.

The musical arrangement over which the song plays features Mind performing his new single against a backdrop of footage of Mind performing his single in multiple places.
